Epicure International 2004 The city’s premier fine dining fair got off to a smashing start recently as the Honourable YB Datuk Wira Dr. Fong Chan Onn, Minister of Human Resources officially opened KL Epicure International 2004 with the breaking of a traditional Japanese sake barrel. With 65 stations offering gourmet food, wine, beverages, cigars, cheese, chocolate, tableware and glassware, the Fair had something for everyone. Other events at the two day fair were the popular Master Chef Cooking Classes, Master Wine Classes, Wine Glass Classes and Cheese Classes. In his welcoming address, Steve Day, Organising Chairman of the KL Epicure International and the KL International Gourmet Festival was quick to praise the wide selection of fine dining products on offer at the Fair. “This is the inaugural year for KL Epicure International,” stated Day. “This year we have a fresh beginning with broader fine dining items. We hope this will be a platform for future years.” Guests were invited by Steve Day to ‘Sample, Buy, Enjoy!’ and this they did with gusto. A giant epicurean hamper was also up for grabs with a guess on its value for every RM50 spent. Beaming winner Fong Yi Hui, from Bandar Sungai Long, Cheras was the envy of many as she had to enrol help to carry away the giant hamper. |
